This is a map of Seacrest County from NFS Hot Pursuit 2010. As you can see, the west part is a very luscious area with a lot of foilage, the eastern end is very desert-like, and the north east is very snowy and mountainous. This is the US State of California [my home state btw] As you can see, Seacrest County and California have lots of geographical similarities. While no snow is shown you can still discern several of Seacrest's features in California.

Maybe it's just me but California looks very straight and narrow while Seacrest County looks a lot wider. Other than that the only thing I notice is that both of them have a desert to the right.

You gotta remember Seacrest is more zoomed in. Also I realize you're canadian but as a california resident I can say it's clearly inspired by California. Hell, they even have a knockoff of santa monica pier at mission beach!

Well it's not completely based off of CA, but it's got some of its elements. The desert area is more like Arizona and Utah than it is East CA. The mountain ranges up north? I've never been there but I've seen pictures of Alaska and it looks kinda like those pictures. And plus, it's all condensed into like a 50 mile range ( I'm just guessing, IDK how many miles across Seacrest County is supposed to be )

Still saying this is not a theory. This is more of an easter egg-type of thing. Even if the seacreast country is based on california, it's not strange at all.

Always said it...Seacrest is based on California, probably more of the northern california (northern coast) to mid california (central coast), and remember CA is a state, Seacrest is a County (and not a state) which would be a smaller territory in CA. The environments are based on territories of CA, remember the large forests, that's redwood trees or the mission beach, which can be inspired by Santa Monica Pier, but small theme parks (ferris wheel etc) at the beach is seen in like almost any coastal city in the US...however, the different types of environments are inspired by CA about the snowy mountains and national park area I could compare it with Mammoth, a popular skiing/snowboarding place with some lakes around. This shot reminds me on a specific place in the game...

Yeah, Seacrest's environments resembles California. The highways, forests, coast routes, and more.
I've seen a documentary video about California when we went to the hotel last weekend, and it pretty much resembles it.

I always thought it did look like Cali. I also think Rivals looks like/is based on California because it has lots of redwood trees.
