Red mountains and canyons are common from the mid west to the west coast...yeah, even coastal cities have canyons...and then Espanola is a flat city, not just the territory, the city is a small town with the highest buildings having only two levels, its just a larger village. About the discussion, the river is not an aspect to talk about, the rio grande is an natural river thru canyons in an dead area (desert)...the river seen in the wallpaper is a patchwork and is obviously artificial with ports and an larger city life scenery.The wallpaper can't be involved into this, photoshopped... This is the rio grande along espanola with a standard bridge...

So let's compare points for and against palmont being based on espanola FOR 1. There is a 50 meter wide muddy river with 4 bridges which definitely inspired a whole 500 meters wide bay with some kind of harbor which we can see on screen (also 4 bridges. Coincidence?!). Eventually, this location didn't even make it to the game.2. For the screen points north-west, there must be some tall cliff south-east on which lookout point would be placed. There are mountains 20 km away in that direction. 3. some polish girl who's in her 20's says so in a YouTube video AGAINST 1. It's indicated in the game that the city is located on the west coast. 2. In carbon ce interviews, it's said that palmont is based on San Francisco, los Angeles and other big west coast cities. 3. Palmont has a big height variety. Los Angeles is known for lying on the hills, as well as sf, while espanola is flat like a pancake. 4. In game, sj lies 10 kms north of palmont. In your theory, it's 100kms south. The truelocation of sanjuan is unknown that is the fixed up city texture which people call silverton as seen from sanjuan. it does not look like silverton. also notice the really flat landscape before it.

The texture probably just reflects Palmont as a whole from very far, even if there can't be seen straight similarities the middle can stand for Silverton and Downtown, doesn't this has the three spotlights lighting up the sky?
It of course can be a random texture anyways, and with that I mean just a texture for the scenery without specific meaning! I say that because some over hype scenery textures and think it's a cut city or shit like that.
In the game San Juan is supposed to be a small town before Palmont at the bottom of the canyons located in a desert.

the three spotlights are a separate texture. none of the buildings match/ nor does the scenery SANTEFECITY is the textures name. also the mountains are a desert texture. ones in palmont are not

Dude, listen I said it can be a simple scenery texture for Palmont as a whole from far away and the buildings are so small because it's far away and wouldn't be recognizable anyways...they could be supposed to represent Palmont...because the casual player doesn't look into detail and when I look at the middle I can see Silverton hotels even if there aren't true similarities, it look like it for eye. It can be just a random city scenery texture without meaning, just for the realism of the night and it's environment.

Dude, listen :D I said it can be a simple scenery texture for Palmont as a whole from far away and the buildings are so small because it's far away and wouldn't be recognizable anyways...they could be supposed to represent Palmont...because the casual player doesn't look into detail and when I look at the middle I can see Silverton hotels even if there aren't true similarities, it look like it for eye. It can be just a random city scenery texture without meaning, just for the realism of the night and it's environment. the texture is from the beta with the Lighter blue sky the search lights were added after the skychange. we can tell this by a really bad rushed alpha layer was drawn which cut off most of the buildings.

And wouldn't it be reasonable for them to keep the English version around too, since EA's HQ is in Vancouver? The whole story thing sounds so cheesy I don't even think a Chicago style pizza has a chance against it.

So black box employees helped him. 1000 physician copies were made and it was for sale at nfsbook.com unfortunatly when ea fired everybody at black box and then destroyed bb the server hosting the book was taken down. Also bb and ea apparently were not on friendly terms. I remember him talking about ea didn't even know who worked at bb in the end.

" first, you need to know BB and EA are entirely different things, as a BB employee i wanted to make this game the best i could, but apparently EA had a different vision my name is Andreas Lansky, its my real name. as a screenwriter and director,of movies, ads and documentaries, i used it to sign my work. when i worked in BB, i made up a pseudonym - Andrew McPherson. to separate my work on games and movies. you can find me in carbon and mw credits. you asked why i wont be working at nfs 2015 - because EA hates us - ex BB employees. in 2004 Marc De Vellis, main producer of NFS MW hired me. i wasnt the only one who used a pseudonym - bb and ea was full of such people. soon i began working - i wrote the plot, scenario, stage directories – everything they needed. they were reshaped to fit the game, but stayed more or less the same. the game was a huge success. i was hired again to write scenario for carbon. this is where first problems arrived. i was told im the first man in ea working on the plot the second year. it wasnt strange for me, but apparently it worked this way in game industry. when i finished up carbon, management of ea told me i wasnt going to be working for the third year for sure (i need to stress out - EA, not BB). i asked why - they replied 'because noone is going to write scenarios for one series forever'. BB was forced to fire me after carbon was released. they were really sorry. same happened to programmers, artists, musicians - "fire them. we need fresh people for fresh ideas" [18:11:25] ANRZEJ: this is more or less first half i wont comment pro street and 2007, none of my business then i began working on the book. i came back to my real name. i asked ea for support in releasing it, they refused because 'your time is over, and we're releasing games, not books'. then bb helped me. they made a whip-round to publish the book. 1000 of them were made, t sold out in 15 hours. you have no idea how much EA was pissed off. they accused me of 'stealing copyrights' to the story, which belonged to the company. i asked them politely if they knew who had written the script and they finally shut up. in 2008 Marc De Vellis (after 2 years break) was hired again. he was deeply surprised by changes which were introduced during his absence. he restored a few awesome people (including me). this time tho, we were working in concealment. together we made the plot for undercover. we created it, divided into scenes and made sure it will come to life. ea didnt know im half-responsible for this. to keep it secret, i wasnt mentioned in the credits, even under the pseudonym. only some of my coworkers appeared. ironically, we can say that this game is called 'undercover' not only because of the plot, but because of our jobs as „undercover screenwriters”. then we had a long break until 2011 when ea restored BB. i was working in concealment again. after one year, ea decided to liquidate BB. dont believe in their propaganda that says we went bankrupt. ea closed the studio leaving a message to the world that we could generate any profit anymore, just kept rioting and whatnot. ea actually had no idea who was working there and i wish you could see faces of ea directors and ceos when they found out. i hope you understand why -ea hates us -nobody knows about the book -why am i not mentioned in the credits -why bb doesnt exist -why polish department of ea told you to kiss their asses when you asked about the book -why i wont be the screenwriter for nfs 2015. our history is war BB against EA. idk how other studios think of ea. idk if its us who dont understand how the game industry works, or all other studios also dont get on well with ea. ultimately we ost the war, but who knows, i still have some hope..."

Maybe the whole text is not real, though it contains a piece of truth... That EA has ruined BB. I was always sure of this. It's not an opinion, it's a fact. A former NFSW developer has told me similar things in private. The main difference is that unlike World, Carbon is still a good NFS game.

I was searching around and if this is true, there was also a digital copy sold for 4 bucks...makes me wonder why he wanted to sell physical copies if he had unlimited digital copies.
Another weird thing in the letter he says EA changed his stories totally, later he says they only reshaped it to fit the game but it's been the same afterall.
I'll be careful in this so called book, anyone with some mind and time can write a good lie such as this who share NFS leaks (e.g. Lighting, Proven and what not).
This guy maybe really wrote the stories, but who says that the person who wrote the mentioned 'book' and this letter is the real guy?

its concept art/art so it can only be based on that location. however that bridge looks similar to a bridge in the final game which goes to kempton. everything is the same except the cranes in kempton not being at the water edge

I doubt the concept art is the location on the early map...it might look similar on the first look but it can be just random... Also, what would be the bridge is not straight/clean on the map, instead it has bunch of different cracks, thin and thick changes and there some other roads on the right..which would be above the river/bay. it looks exactly like the bridge which is near your safehouse in the final game...
