So i'm randomly reading wikipedia pages, and then read NFS 3:Hot Pursuit. In one of the last sentences it says ''A PS2 version was in devolpment, but cancelled''. So i searched it up, but found no proof. Does anybody have proof of this? Or like articles? Looks interesting.

Well there is a Wii version, so the PS2 version might have been similar to the Wii version like Undercover. Also note that Wikipedia is a website where anybody can edit the articles and put bullshit in them.

Doubt it, the game is a 1998 game while PS2 is released in 2000. Besides, a sequel is already made for PS2.

Black Box wasn't working for EA until sometime in 2001 to develope the PS2 Version of Hot Pursuit 2, EA Canada/Seattle was developing the other three versions. Black Box wasn't even in charge to decide what to do, EA does. A NFS 3 HP Port doesn't make sense because the PS2 can run PS1 games...the PS1 version was lacking content and features the PC version had - that's actually a time when a PC release was better than console release lol

That brings up a bigger question, wouldn't it have made more sense for them to create a PS2 version of Porsche Unleashed, since it came out a little after the PS2 was released? If I'm not mistaken, Midnight Club was also released in 2000 and it didn't even have a PS1 version.

Porsche Unleashed was a flop...it wouldn't have made sense to do either, port/develope an old PS1 game to the PS2 instead of making an all-new game for the new console generation? And a port would been stupid because the PS2 supports PS1 games. EA's resources from the NFS team were into Motor City/Motor City Online and Hot Pursuit 2 between 1999 and 2003...

I don't know for what this function using in game, but all available buttons use "EnableonDemo=1", hidden debug-menus use "EnableonDemo=0". I found AI config menu, car debug info, and unfinshed car history menu in HS

It was once EA bought Black Box in 2001 or so, back then they only had an office level inside the EA Canada building...

MCO has a Demo mode for the E3 too where specific cars, parts and such are available for the the E3 demo, an additional command allows to purchase/build cars for the demo...

Well, maybe EA wanted to make an "enhanced" version of the first HP for the PS2 with better engine and graphics, but they decided to create a sequel instead. Something like that also happened from Valve: CS:GO was initially a Source port for the XBox 360. But hey, this is just a theory. A GAME theory! (Sorry for the forced reference. )
