Considering the fact it's using the same engine from Rivals, it's not surprising the physics are awful.

I'm quite sure that 'weird physics' happen even when you don't mess with the framerate cap The original video is recorded without unlocked framerate btw.I just sped up the gif :v

Considering the fact it's using the same engine from Rivals, it's not surprising the physics are awful. EA is pushing frostbite onto them. If they used their time to produce a good engine like EA Graphics Library 4, the driving physics would be much better. And we could use VLTed if they used EAGL 4 heuheuheuheu.

(Pro Street / Undercover) I've heard somewhere The Run was going to be in EAGL 5 but for whatever reason, that was cancelled and forced Blackbox to work with an engine they are not familiar with.

The physics were almost as good as EAGL 3, there was minimal difference IMO. To put together the best arcade racing game engine, ever. They need to combine the physics of EAGL 3 and 4, with the graphics of Frostbite.

Considering the fact it's using the same engine from Rivals, it's not surprising the physics are awful. Ok, honestly this was really bad. You'd expect to see this in MW (most noticeable on the cops if you smash them that hard), Underground 1 and 2 (crashing in these games is insane), but on a 2015 game that aims to be realistic... what a joke. And EAGL 4's driving physics were really bad (imo), especially in UC. They were pretty much the same in PS, but they weren't that annoying there due to the setting of the game and the tracks themselves. That handling in a open world game was one of the worst decisions they made for the game. @outblast I prefer EAGL over EAGL 2, it was easier to drive the cars in UG1 than 2...

No wonder it's called "Heroic Driving Engine".Too arcade, if you ask me. I somehow found UG1 to be harder than its successor because i always had problem with driving in max. tuned cars.2fast4me I should play it again sometime EDIT: Ah, so this explains it.

You'd have to be a ,,hero,, to drive UC's cars with that handling . Back to UG, I had exactly the same problem, but vice versa. I find driving max tuned cars in UG2 very annoying. I even have the impression that all of them understeer, with the possible exception of RWD cars, like the RX-7. You can drift really nice with an RX-7 in the city if you're good enough , but ironically, it's not that good on actual drift track as in other game modes. However, one car I can definitely say that drives better in U2 is 350z. Shit man, its oversteer in UG1 is insane, and its acceleration is actually lower than RX-7's, which I somehow find to be noticeably more stable, wtf. UG1's cars were easier to control overall, and at least I don't have the feeling of always-understeer-on-corners there, but it may very well be just me. Lately I've found that I'm also much worse at drifting than I was 8yrs ago. I still remember my maniacal chain drifts in UG1 I made at the time. I can still manage to accumulate huge amounts of points during drift events (73k was my best, during a chain drift last night), but at the end of the day, I'm still actually worse. I guess I'm too old for drifting lol. At least I'm glad I'm much better at circuit events, I was horrible on the endurance events in the past. I even remember one time when I was driving a Skyline that I restarted one such event 8-9 times. Now I'm flying on the track. Its much harder to pull them away with a max tuned car, but with a full Pro Package Civic I can almost lap them (+50 sec. behind bitches, eat this).

Using fraps to lower frame rates? Thats almost as genious as Cannondale's lefty forks... Also, you should try braking before the corner...

I didn't have any problem with corners.I meant the gameplay itself was fast but that's probably explained in the quote i posted above. I'll definetely try the Fraps tactic though.

Have you tried Corolla GT-S? That thing is OP as hell :v I sometimes began the career with it. It's REALLY SLOW at the beginning, but after you tune it up, yeah, it can be very fast. Same with the 240sx and Civic. Civic, just like in UG1, max tuned is a monster (in general, most noticeable on circuits, sprints, and URLs) with incredible handling, and 240sx is a drag beast. Also speaking about speed, I've always felt like U2 is the ,,slowest,, (to say so, I think you know what I mean by that) NFS game of the BB era. All the other seem to be much faster, but in UG2 everytime I have the feeling that things are damn slow (even at 300+ km/h). Strange. And a bit of off topic (something just blew me outta my socks), speaking about engines, just watched some gameplay vids of MW 2005 on Xbox 360. I can't freakin' believe how great that game looks running on that, especially for a 2005 game. The PC version is much, much more inferior to it... I'd even go as far as to say it looks like a post-2010 game.

I'd even go as far as to say it looks like a post-2010 game. Damn, i didn't notice that.Looks neat! It's super HD. Same with Underground 2 and Carbon. Both look better on the 360 (in Carbon's case is not that noticeable, especially after re-enabling widescreen, which is actually in the game, but deliberately locked. UG2 seems to look better but again, not a huge difference). Here, 2 vids for this purpose (MW only): Xbox 360: PC max settings: Indeed, the PC version looks good enough, but compared to the 360 one... it's a slap over the face. It even has some particle effects that are not present on the PC version at all (that wind effect created by the high speed on the back of the car for instance). Other examples are: The lightning (inside the tunnel, along with the shadows), improved car geometry, much better looking vinyls, and so on.
