So i was browsing the burnout wiki and i found something really interesting....... "The game might've had a PS2 port planned, as proven by an early advertisement of the game." "Though it was likely to be scrapped due to the PS2's hardware limitations for the game." And it led to this photo (also, beta logo) i am wondering, how would the game look like?

It probably was a typo, or it would be a really watered down port, judging by ea.

That logo is straight outta Burnout Revenge.
The ps2 port is very likely possible, but it is most likely an entirely different game, similarly to Undercover and even Nfs hp 2010 (it never had a ps2 port but it had a wii port)
Then again, Burnout Dominator was released exclusively for Sony so I say its even.

also, i found the beta title screen the "post-burnout 5" logo the beta Paradise City - "An early concept of Paradise City depicts a much larger one. Harbor Town was greatly expanded, Silver Lake was bigger, Downtown Paradise had many more roads, an airport existed to the east of the Waterfront Plaza which would later become Big Surf Island and a factory zone existed to the far south. There was also an extra road at Motor City." the beta tutorial video (with beta icons and map) and...... unused dlcs - "There were many downloadable content packs planned including planes, helicopters, and a "moon map"." kotaku.com/5429635/burnout-paradise-on-the-moonthe moon dlc would be really fun to play

Beta content thread? Nah? Anyway:
I remember there was more videos on Criterion Games channel, showing a lot of early stuff, using (I guess) Burnout Dominator engine, a few cars from there. Seems that everything is lost if no one archivied it.

If I had any info to share at the moment, I would, but for now, I'm just going to say that probably Burnout Paradise, if it ever came out for the PS2, it would probably be the same game, just scaled down graphics and resolution, and a much smaller Paradise City, maybe with parts of Silver Lake and Downtown Paradise being cut out.

Interesting find on the wiki, although the Burnout 5 with the original logo was already found in a 2006 Alpha from what I have read and seen on Beta64's website is that the game lacked the detailed elements because in a test state instead of a full blown demo like the one on the PS3 version which was late since you can see the full city on the map, but it was just locked. However, I am pretty sure the Alpha of the game can be found somewhere I know some people in the videos have it. The debug characteristics are interesting to look at as well.
Also, does anyone remember the old Criterion Games showcase the development of Burnout Paradise? It was when Burnout Paradise first came out, but it was when I was 10 or 12 when I first saw it. I think from that point on since the video's deletion from YouTube and even on their own website they cleared everything relevant to Burnout Paradise including that dev video. I am wondering about this since they show the game in the 2006 Alpha, the 2007 Beta is shown, and the full game with debug features is also shown in every video.

unused dlcs - "There were many downloadable content packs planned including planes, helicopters, and a "moon map"."
I think its removed because they think burnout is a game about crashing and takedowns, and it'll be weird if you race using planes or heli. The moon map is removed bcoz they cant make the game's reaction if you fall from the moon.

It was removed because Criterion and EA signed to an agreement that they wouldn't release any more DLC after Big Surf.

I was the one that put that ''PS2 port'' info on the page. I actually was the one that created and contributed most info on that page. I actually had a Dutch version of that advertisement (i'm dutch) as it was included in early copies of Dominator.
Some smartass idiot removed almost all info from that page though because it wasn't reference based (interesting info gone now :/)
Anyways, yes, i was close to acquiring the Burnout 5 build, however, guy wanted atleast 380 for that build, and i'm not spending that much money. I did manage to get some exclusive footage from that build along with some screenshots, which i will show at a later date.
I did manage to acquire 2 builds of Paradise, a artist build which contains an early version of Big Surf Island (a really interesting and cool version of Big Surf)and early DLC cars and alot of debugging stuff along with a Novemeber 2007 build (which idk what that has other than debugging stuff)
By the way this topic should be in Other Game Theories/BURNOUT Theories, as this section is for NFS stuff.

Burnout: Infinite Warfare hilarious and original If only Burnout even were to have a sequel after Crash. Everybody would be losing their shit. actually, three fields entertainment, a studio formed by former Criterion Games founders and developers Fiona Sperry and Alex Ward, is making a spiritual sucessor to burnout
