(Late Post) Nice find, odd that they'd give the car a unique sound and not even use it.
On a side note, something interesting I spotted: If you sit through the end credits on a non collectors edition version (what I mean is, only certain versions got a collectors edition. So for example, there is no NFS Carbon collectors edition on PS3, only the standard ver) They have the trademarks for Pagani (also MR2, Corolla and 911 Turbo for that matter) even though the car isn't accessible by any means.

^^^ The 86 of course lol. I don't think Toyota made AE86 in 1998. The closest one is AE110.

What do you mean? o.O From what I know Pagani was a downloadable, the MR2 is a reward card car, Corolla and Turbo are online play rewards. They are all in the game.

No! I think all of you misunderstood me. I'll go through it again.
The PS3 version (as an example) never had a collectors edition. The collectors edition was only available on the PS2, 360 & PC versions. So all those bonus cars, and of course the EA downloader cars, aren't accessible in any way shape or form. Yet the manufacturer trademarks are still featured in the credits.
Anyway. Sort of related mini theory: From my understanding (It would make sense any way). All these "bonus" cars like the Evora, Road Runner, IS300, AE86 and so on. I believe these cars weren't finished, like all body kits and stuff weren't modled, with this being due to Carbon's rocky development.
I dunno what your guys' opinion is on the matter. But it doesn't make sense to me. Why they'd include all these cars which fit the game perfectly, yet aren't customizable or obtainable in career by normal means. Me and my friend were talking about this the other day, so many cars that feel unfinished and tacked on. Well that's my two cents anyway.

My point is, if they had a longer development cycle. Maybe cars such as the Evora were originally going to be buy-able, fully customizable cars instead of just tacked on, quick race/MP only. Sorry for not clarifying that very well.

Most of the bonus cars are complete (except for a few issues like the bugged headlights of new GT500 and old Eclipse). Developers probably thought to follow up the idea of having bonus cars that are only available for quick race in Most Wanted (M3 GTR [Street], Camaro SS and C6.R)

Its headlights are not raised. It sure feels like Carbon was rushed...
