I guess you have seen the tram in Chinatown: (however, the sign says that it is a trolley, and it makes sense because there are no wires for the tram. However, it just looks more like a tram for me) So, recently I decided to install Underground and play a little bit. I never paid attention to this tram before, but this time I decided to learn more about it. Using the free roam mod (thanks hockeyguy!) I found out where the tracks are leading: But it looks kinda strange, because some of these streets are not on the map! I made a map of the tracks: (the dotted part is the street that is not marked on the map. I also guess that this map of Olympic city is not full, because there are some more unmarked streets). So, what do you think about it? What would the tram system map look like? And can these tracks/trams be seen anywhere else in the city? I haven't played Underground for quite a long time, so I can't remember.

A train can be seen in the Construction street drag race but not the version that doesn't feature road works. I however do not see the trolley sign anywhere. Is it because of the graphic level, game files or a sign in the streets?

I have found there tracks on the drag track: These are, however, train tracks and not the tram tracks. Here's the sign:

It's mentioned in sound related stuff along with NIS related things. Trolley's may have been an early design in mind but i bet it didn't have a long run when it turned into the tram.

That is why the streets don't line up with the map. It's just supposed to look like a full city even though the tracks in the game only make a skeleton of a city.

A tram (also known as tramcar; and in North America known as streetcar, trolley or trolley car) trolly / tram are the same thing :V Pretty much this... (<-- points to Wikipedia article.) A cable car on the other hand is something different. It uses the cable underground for propulsion. So it's what you see on the hilly portions of San Francisco. Though they do have a streetcar system using PCC streetcars. ========================= Wanted to say it looks like a PCC streetcar based on the shape of the body and windows, even though it looks horribly UV mapped. (ie, wrong side of the street) As I read those were the most common streetcar in North America for over half a centenary ago. ========================= Also, the streetcar system close to where I live scrapped all PCC streetcars except for 2 in the 1990s. Those 2 are kept for 2 for charter and summer revenue service. So... XD Also interesting is the mix of a CLRV livery on PCC streetcars.

Sorry for bumping this old thread, but recently I had some time to do some further research on trams. What I found was this: A train depot that has some trams: So, obviously, there are some tram tracks that lead to this depot. But the small piece of line that I found earlier is on the other side of the canal. It means that trams cross either this: , this: , or one of those bridges: All in all, the tram map now looks like this: Have you seen anything tram-related anywhere between those two pieces?

Or nfs carbon, there are some odd tram rails, at two locations I think, but they are unused. Same goes for trains in the same game, there is a really looong train in the factory part of the city and doesn't even look like it's on actual rails. And then NFS rivals where the rails are in the desert but make no sense. But I like that they put trains and rails into the game, im a train fan To contribute to the topic, there are some rails in a big tunnel like building which I guess was a station. Don't know the location name but the rails are cut off on both sides with some sand(?). EDIT: It's the national rail station, there are also some rail tracks marked on the map but I'm unable to see them as real since they go through an accessible road and there are no tracks. Except there are underground rails. Also the railroad we see in the construction place drag race is non existant, together with the whole street. If you play a map that is supposed to cross with the street on certain places, the street simply isn't there.

In carbon it doesn't make sense, because the rails stretch out over a small distance, and suddenly stop, there's no station whatsoever.

Idk about where the station but the tram stop is underground (which is weird because the tracks are above ground)and can be drivable

In carbon it doesn't make sense, because the rails stretch out over a small distance, and suddenly stop, there's no station whatsoever. It does make sense and only meant to be a Transport from A to B to A within Chinatown. Compareable to the tram in San Francisco just going the hill up and down. Unfortunately we don't see the tram because it's night. Olympic City I once researched the tram/subway tracks and where you see them. It's a large system across the city. You can find two subway stations in Chinatown, one is connected to the City Plaza Mall and one comes after the mountainside before you come to the 180° turn with the fountain shortcut by the large buildings. Following the tracks they go further to the highway and can be spotted again before the highway near the McDonald's billboard. You also drive beneath the tracks in Port Royal where the Start/Finish is - tracks are above the pipes. I once have drawn it onto the map the tracks.
