There's a few snaps of Mystery City and Lookout Point in general. Looks like Lookout Point was supposed to have a street leading to MC. Mystery City has ghost textures, "BOO". and finally, Lookout point in general.

Firstly, nixty I do think you're right in some regards. Everybody on this forum can theorize about whatever they want. That's what theories are for, for our imaginations to go wild. Sometimes something useful comes out of the situation, others not so much. And that's why I am on this forum, to speculate and express my opinion. Secondly, I'd like to say that it's stupid that people will think that bunch of textures of a beta city are drivable. When I was younger and played the game I thought about that too, what is this city, is this Rockport (yeah I thought that). Hell, I thought that in GTA SA you could see aliens, once even I thought I saw one (well then I was just 5-6 and imagined things like that). And finally I want to say that your thread (the one on wich I am writing now) has some valuable information. I think no one has ever been that close to MC, or took the time to look into every bit of Lookout point, so I want to give you my appreciation.

Theories are endless on here. We can either say that Mystery City used to be Palmont, but a shorter version of it, We can also say that it was a main city that used to allow you to drive straight into it by driving into the canyons, you know why? Because TRAFFIC EXISTS ON FREE ROAM ON CANYONS! Canyons we're supposed to be Free Roam-able, even though they're just scattered around the map. Traffic AI exists in canyon because it was planned for canyon duels. I suppose free roamable canyons required too much effort and/or sources for them in a short time.

I might aswell take photos of every single canyon in a detailed way just like how i've done with Lookout point and probably theorize them all and also take pictures of their sceneries.

Tbh, they've had 2 YEARS. 2 YEARS. They've had enough time in 2 years to make the game without them needing to cut Mystery City.

It's not supposed to be a Real City. Mystery City is only a Panorama and it will never exist and it will also never be Driveable. It is driveable but not in the way you think it is, and plus, if you'd drive straight forward into it it will dissapear, that's why i've said that it has Ghost Textures, some of it's textures are transparent and when you'll get near MC it's textures will dissapear.
After all, Mystery City is just a Texture that we all thought at some point that it's Palmont, but it's not.

this is because at either side of the garage the little bit of drivable surface is marked as a road for some reason. it's probably how their tools worked and they never thought to fix it. Tbh, they've had 2 YEARS. 2 YEARS. They've had enough time in 2 years to make the game without them needing to cut Mystery City. mystery city was never made. it was just one of many concept maps for the game.

Nice find but remember there is one key difference, mystery city image is for decoration and the physical location is just a beta Palmont that BB scrapped to a more "district" approach it. Also keep note that Beta Palmont looks very similar to Bayview in certain terms, when the game was under development as Underground 3.

Also keep note that Beta Palmont looks very similar to Bayview in certain terms, when the game was under development as Underground 3. The game was never meant to be a underground successor. Early in development, it was meant to have a highly open road map, with cities, deserts and mountains, similar to secreast county and Redview. It was almost halfway into the development until the devs decide to "go back to it's roots" with underground racing, which is another way of saying they're playing it safe. They used the assets originally meant for the big open map to make Palmont city. Canyons were not proposed untill about three quarters into the development. They had a long development time but they blew it and in turn we got a sloppy rushed mess.

It's safe to say that EA Bombed mystery city and BlackBox tried to remake it but they didn't have enough time
And @blackweed, NFSC Was actually meant to be NFS Underground 3 in a few early stages, but it was later renamed to Carbon and it's named remained as Carobn.

Its not parking lot,it maybe a early highway ramp which is changed by the road near the tunnel
