Hello everybody! It's been a while but I'm back. And today, May 28th, I'm celebrating my 1 year anniversary on NFST. And what better way to celebrate this occasion than to continue what I've started with my previous thread Interesting stuff found in UG1. I present to you: Interesting stuff found in UG2.
Firstly some things I found interesting (easter eggs/small details/ect):
Have you ever wondered where the mystery highway was located when you were in Coal Harbor, City Core or Beacon Hill? Well wonder no more. It's underwater and when you go to Jackson Heights (therefore unloading the other districts and water), you can visibly see that highway. 
I also found these rectangles in Beacon Hill. I don't know where (or what) they are but when you are in the loaded area, as far as I checked, they should be part of buildings but I'm not too sure. 
And here's Bayview from below. 
The cinema near Hotel Plaza is screening "Need for Speed", of course as a reference to the series. But who would guess that some years after that there will actually be a NFS movie? 
This is supposed to be Bayview's junkyard. Compared to Olympic city's, this one is pathetic. 
Also for so many years I haven't noticed that Bayview had Basketball and Tennis courts. 
That's not how buildings work. 
Here's the Jackson Heights Lighthouse. Which in my opinion doesn't make sense. It's too far into the river around the mountain, as a lighthouse it should be in the ocean where ships can see it better. 
Here's what the Opera house is showing (SPOILERS: It's a light!)
Now let's get into some juicy stuff! I've divided them into regions to be easier for you to follow.
City Core:
Let's talk a bit about this road and why I think is blocked. 
As you proceed through the blocked road, you'll firstly notice that there isn't any ground there. The second thing you'll notice (as you'll see with the other roads too) is that the loading/unloading from a zone is fucked up and things are appearing and disappearing chaotically. 
As you can see the street signs are present and on places (close to the exits) roads are also seen. 
But the most broken area is this one. It has roads present but they're either not drivable on or you can spawn your car but it's boxed by invisible walls. 
Here are also present buildings from UG1, like this one. 
I'm not sure if these two black buildings were also present that game. 
This is taken some centimeters apart and shows how broken rendering is for these closed off roads. 
And this is the closed off road by the City Centre (around the skyscrappers and the other blocked roads, which are underneath it). I believe these were left closed off because either A) These places were the most obvious (immersion breaking) ones, on which you could see how the game loads/unloads a district without anythinng obstructing your view. Or B) The devs fucked something up while making the game and cut those roads off completely because they didn't have time (or were lazy) to fix them.
Coal Harbor and Beacon Hill:
These two warehouses are placed on the border of the map, where the minimap shows the last chunks of land before the water.

If you didn't know this monument was placed on the other side of Pigeon Park but its place wasn't changed on the minimap. 
This is the only place where you can see the city unloaded through the on-car camera (aka this is the only place where you can break the immersion) 
And if you move a bit to the left, from the city everything unloads. 
There is my 350Z seen in a low poly Beacon Hill and I had to get above the road to load the normal Beacon Hill, so in other words you can't get a nice zoom out of that district with everyhting loaded in.
District Colors:

As you can see every district has its own tinting. As you can see Fort Union's is a bit bright greenish; Coal Harbor East's is yellow; The border between Coal Harbor East and West is light blue; Coal Harbor West's is toxic green; Hotel Plaza area's is dark blue; City Centre's seaweed green; South Market I believe is also dark blue; And Jackson Heights' is orange.
As you can see every district has its own tinting. Everything beside the drag track is glitching. Loading and unloading roads, buildings, ect. is broken and this supports my theory that these were blocked off for a reason, which I still don't know. And that's why they're madde unnacessable, because when they're "drivable", everyhting else feels unstable/problematic. For example the loading and unloading of an entire zone as seen on the fifth picture.
Let's start off with something simple, like where the Bayview sign should be. Of course it doesn't make any sense for the devs to make an actual sign to be seen up close but I thought at least it should be noted where it would be. 
It also doesn't hurt to show you the infamous Mystery Highway and the lod Bayview in the distance (I think it is but don't quote me on that). 
And something I find breathtaking, the panorama view of Bayview and its suburbs. Honestly I can stare at that landscape for hours.
Firstly I want to say that I don't think this is water, it doesn't look like the one seen anywhere else, in my opinion it's more of an optical illusion. 
Like in UG1, some tracks are in the same "skybox" (as I called them in my previous thread and will proceed to call them that because the alternative is "world/place that is loaded and the city is unloaded". Btw that's how BB achieved these places, like url, street x, drift and drag tracks). In this case the three drag tracks are in the same "skybox" and in this case we are on the Terminal drag, from which we can go straight to the Bayview Bridge drag, following the trains (who like in UG1 stay loaded at all times). And we end up near the Bayview Bridge (note: you have to get really close to the tracks to load, unlike UG1 where they loaded from a further distance). 
When you're on the Airport Drag head again for the trains and you'll end up in the back of the bridge drag. And how these three were placed leads me to believe that they're placed in the shape of "V", relatively close to each other. 
Even the drag tracks have ambient lighting — green for the city and light blue for the train terminal and, I forgot to take a picture, dark blue for the airport. 
Oh and here's a strange bug I have for some reason, the npcs are green.
The same applies for the URL tracks. Going through the circuit to the airport is easy, just head for the planes and it will load you. 
But the loading zones are broken, similar to construction drag. And my car spawns there without a problem and I can jerk around however I want, minding the invisible walls of course. And I have a theory to propose, what if the drift and street x tracks are also in their own seperate "skyboxes"? But they are too big and I can't find any loaded bits to follow and until I find something I can't tell for sure.
When you're in the street x docks, head for the two buildings in the far right corner (funny thing is, it's placed in the same location where the 14 & vine was placed in the UG1 itteration of the track). 
You'll be loaded here. 
Here's another picture of the unloaded parkade, with roads and without parts of them missing (like in UG1). And finally, I found that the glass, which was bugged in the PC version of UG1, is finally fixed and you can see through it. 
Loaded through the parkade street x, go back the same way you came previously, and you'll end up in the street x docks, which now is more empty of course.
On the stadium drift, head for the two buildings on the left and after a bit you'll end up in the drift parkade track.

Firstly here's the mystery highway (or island or road or shit), maybe you're wondering how I got so close. The answer is simple, using one of (no matter which) the jackson heights drift tracks, which also screws a bit the rendering (but not as drastically as the construction drag), I managed to get so close. In my opinion to achive these two types of events (drag and drift) in the open world, BlackBox devs had to play a bit with the rendering or this is a result of the type of gamemode somehow influencing the world around it. Another thing is that every track has its own ambience and if you go from one to the other, it will load the other track's ambience but when you go back it won't load the other track's. I don't know why that happens. To sum it all up the game has its quirks, so I suggest you play with them and see what happens.
