They want $55 for the pro version where I suspect its likely false, but the obj file is what's bugging be about it... Anyway has anyone looked into the Xbox magazine demo? Its much bigger than the PS2 demo... too bad there is no gameplay on Youtube to figure out how late in development it is as well as the build date seems to be 07/02/06 and build name is NFS07_xbox_DEMO_MediaDemo_18_2_America compared to the PS2 demo named NFS07_psx2_DEMO_MediaDemo_18_1_Europe. Although they share the same date the Xbox demo has much more ZZDATA files as well as having over 100mb's. Who knows what magic might be there... 1. eagl doesn't even use .obj files. nor did blackbox use them at any point of the development pipeline also the xbox media demo is probably(99%) the exact same as the ps2 in terms of content except that it uses the higher res . detailed xbox assets and the specific xbox code. NFS07_xenon_REL_DEMO_2006_09_21_00_05_Europe < is the only xbox carbon demo that has any *noticable* content changes at all. including the beta tuner theme with the ambience soundtrack. also pretty much every music file in that version is messed up with random sine waves n shit being played behind.

i dunno if its uploaded anywhere. i might upload it in the future also actual content: The sunset colours and fog and stuff still exists in the game. they are the default values that are usually overwritten. edit: found this while hex editing. sunset? it seems the skydome model is in the sunset model bundle. :V

I think carbon was meant to be a dusk to dawn kind of game.
In even simpler words, sunset to sunrise.
Kind of like how in the 2015 reboot, it's sunrise in Franklin Terrace, and it's night in all other parts of the Ventura.

I think it could have been a separate game entirely that was based off of the codebase Black Box used for the Need for Speed games judging from the disproportionate way the characters are drawn in the concept art (In concept art, there is already stylization).
But that's just my theory though.

Speedy has stated before that Repoman was a early development codename for Carbon, but I sort of think otherwise judging from the art style.
And there's no indication of it being being a Need for Speed at all in the concept art.

heres the original source: as you can see it's clearly labeled as NFS REPO. its below the most wanted concepts. and the "tuner cars" "bmw" and porsche also show that it is carbon. reminder that these are discarded concepts.

The characters beyond the second pic are outright whack and would fit nowhere other than in a fighting game of some sort. Nobody in the right mind would make characters like these for a racing game, especially NFS.

Maybe it was a rough concept or extremely early in development, I mean there were even signs of MW in 2004 so who knows maybe Carbon could have began planning in 2003, which is how this art came to happen. Maybe the artwork was to be a reflection on personalities? The only correlations (if there are any) would be the black dude being cross, the girl Santiago being Angie, Business man being Wolf/Darius, Jenny Cosplay being Yumi and Yamikaze would be (kenji?). Anyway please don't put much thought into this its just my 2 cents.
