Well... some more info: A different performance customization... It works 100% Map screen menu? I have no idea wtf this could be... "Estimated Minutes Wasted By User" lol Drag races: As always, any other drag that is not the one you can play in the demo will freeze PCSX2. and.. we have this: Also, after doing races in career and messing with menus: Restart Tournament only crash the game. After finishing all playable races available in career: Clicking in continue or start one of the new events will freeze PCSX2. Missing textures in a race we can play normally in the demo? weird... A kind of preset editor: AND FINALLY! Hopyfully I can make a video and release the .elf file. I also would like to have other game modes as drift, sprint, and track selection in Quick Race, but no luck so far :/

Free run... Map screen... Hmmm, maybe they were planning initially some kind of (free)roam? (I doubt it, but you never know..)

I remember seeing it in the UG wikipedia page a long time ago, but I can't find the correct version now. So, it's not really proved, hence it's left up to your discretion whether to believe it or not.

So, it's not really proved, hence it's left up to your discretion whether to believe it or not. I doubt it, there's nothing in the game that makes you think there was free roam planned. The city is very small Most of the roads on the city map don't exist. Maybe someone thought about it at the very beginning, but I highly doubt it...I believe the concept sounded like this: let's have street races in the city at night under the lights...rather than let's have a city there we can free roam... The Beta/Demo doesn't even have a city map, only the truly driveable track is available on the mini map. + Wikia and Wikipedia pages don't have to be always correct, everyone can edit, but only the once with official/active sources can be trusted...if some In the case of NFS, people write down what they once heard or believe...but most of it is never true and because there's no source and interest is low (like Empire State Building, Malibu or Sex vs. Some Video Game) the Wikipedia people won't take a look at it. I remember a very old detailed interview way before the release, it was at the time of MCO and some question included MCO such as if it will have the same tuning depth as MCO...obviously not, but one question was about the city and free roam, the answer was there will be a free run where you test drive the tracks. I'll look for it.

I honestly think at some point in development, they were gonna implement or atleast consider the possibility of Freeroam. Sure, Olympic City is small, AREA WISE, FOR THE LAST DAMN TIME but that doesn't really mean much. Look at games like SRS and the 1st 3 Midnight Clubs, their freeroam features were amazing, yet the cities that were avalible were much smaller, area-wise, than Rockport or Bayview. Who says that Olympic City wouldn'tve been great for messing around in had they decided to go through with completing the city?
Anyways, am I the only one who caught that Eclipse with the intercooler?

The thing is nothing left in the game hints that they ever thought to connect the roads and have a free roamable city.
And didn't you notice that the roads of the circuits are setup that you can drive at high speed without having to break much?
I even believe that the city map we see from the navigation system was created after the tracks were done, because there are crossroads and streets that aren't available when you drive there...
Of course I can't read their minds, in fact it's long past...but it doesn't look like it was ever a section of the development process...
I think it's like in Hot Pursuit 2, where the 5 main territories are split into segments and only what you will drive on is loaded/open, the other segment (or its crossroad) of the different race is blocked by barriers.
The difference in Underground is they built a city around it to make the players think it's a city.

Note that beta version's menu icons were used for GameBoy Advance version of Underground.
