Hello there, in this thread we'll be discussing about the changes made for Need for Speed 2015 during development. We'll be talking about the: E3 Pre-Alpha demo E3/GC/EGX Playable demos The Closed Beta and the final game.
Let's start with the E3 Pre-Alpha In the E3 Demo's cutscene you can see the time when the scene takes place, for some reason this doesn't appear in the final game.
When the "Drift Attack" (We'll get to that later) begins there's a bar on the upper part of the screen. This bar could've showed you the amount of XP needed to reach the next level. but it does not appear in the final game but changed to this
Before: Now:
This "Drift Attack" Event is not in the final game, it could've possibly remade as Touge events or scrapped completely
All other racers, cops and traffic are seen as dots in the minimap (also you can't see traffic in the minimap in the final game) In the final version they're seen as white/red arrows.
E3 PA DEMO: FINAL: The rep circle colors for the icons were all white and did not have the little symbol of the icon next to them, colors and symbols were added later. E3 PA DEMO:FINAL:
The fine cost in the pursuit had a different look and was placed in the upper right corner. In the final version it was different, had heat level icons and placed in the bottom left corner.
E3 PA DEMO: FINAL:
I think that's about it for the E3 Pre-Alpha now let's move on to the playable demos
E3/Gamescom/EGX playable demos (NOTE: All playable demos are the same build) All vehicles had a wet texture look to them in the garage for some reason
The racing/guidance arrows were orange, in the final they're blue The "Elite Tuning" handling menu appeared in the playable demo, In the final, the handling menu looks different and lacks the "Elite Tuning" logo.
The minimap in this build looked similar to the final minimap.
The pursuit time looked different
That is it for the playable demos now let's move on to the Closed Beta
The closed beta is very similar to the Final version, but there are small noticeable differences.
When characters called only their name appeared. In the final, the Icon name was added next to their name. Beta: Final:
In the first few races of the beta, small little boxes containing info appeared, in the final the entire screen was covered with the info
Beta: Final:
There you have it, if I missed anything feel free to find whatever I missed and post it here. This thread will be updated whenever we find more things and with the PC version coming out, We'll find A LOT more deep within the files (if anyone wants to do it...)

2:00 He easily enters the races by driving behind other cars. "drift attack" I wondered why they removed the ability to join a race while moving. And I noticed in some areas of the city area looked different in your ' Trailer vs Game' video

Meh, you know. 1. Ghosts could not do it because some of the people might crash into someone while racing and joining a random race is crap. 2. We don't know why some things have been cut or added. Most of them are useless. 3. Drift attack is not touge . You just have 1 v 1 with another person drifting. Like in NFSC where you could drift with AI on canyons. Again everything is just bullshit and fake. It's ''impossible''. 4. We will never get perfect NFS ever.

most of these things are used. most dev studios do that, for ex. rx8 using ferrari sound in ug2 so no wonder why punto suppost to be in there, its there as an engine. most of these stuff been talked about here

sorry to revive this thread but are those safehouses? or tuning shops? I believe the player could have multiple safehouses. Maybe you could store more than 5 cars before the Hot Rods update?

sorry to revive this thread but are those safehouses? or tuning shops? I believe the player could have multiple safehouses. Maybe you could store more than 5 cars before the Hot Rods update? Nope. I forget where, but the community manager said it was just development stuff. Basically potential locations for the garage. That's why if you fall out of the world or crash multiple times the game might respawn you where the top left garage icon is in that image, but the actual garage is closer to where the player is in that image.
