Yesterday when I was playing with the nfs underground 1 ps2 demo, and messing around with the debug world camera, I found some interesting things... leads to the wall. However when I move the camera inside the building I found this. The building has a interior that looks like a nightclub! Then I decided to do the same thing but with the newer gamecube prototype. Note that the road is with cones is now gone and so is the interior.

As far as I recall, I've seen some footage that does suggest that it has been a shortcut indeed

I wanted to check out this shortcut and ended up finding these cut routes: (beware, amazing paint skills) Would be nice if somebody with image editing skills could include properly these cut routes on this map.

Would be nice if somebody with image editing skills could include properly these cut routes on this map. You're welcome. (<- clickity click)Upper right part looks like ass because of scenery and source image being made of JPEG screenshots. upd: I think this is what I should've done.

It indeed is a cut shortcut. Unused AI routes to it exist in the GC build

I forgot exactly what it was called (I have forgotten most things from the BB games TBH) but it was one of the debug options which lets your car cycle through the track. (Making it feel like your car is stuck on some rails) (TrackEditor? Idk)
Anyway when you cycle through the track the game will use an AI route (made during the early stages of development) to cycle through the track.
But since the route was made during the early stages of development it will cycle through non-existant roads/shortcuts that once did exist, including this one.
It is very difficult to explain, I'll snap a video later on of what I mean.

the drag camera editor can't exactly be used as evidence that it was a short cut though. it doesn't follow any ai path. it follows some weird intepolation of the actual route and cutes most of the corners :V the actual ai paths can be seen with the ai editor and none of them go in this building.
The texture on the floor and the way the window is set up implies that it could of been drivable at some point though.
I'm pretty sure on final ps2 version the interior is still there, the ps2 version is also the only version without bugged transparency on the windows. a possible cause to why this was cut.

Sorry for the inactivity, I was very busy and I forgot the thread, so I looked in the ps2 final version and the only thing I found was a strange pink wall.
