Don't quote the whole thing. 1, the developers could easily make the truck non-explodable (and even if they didn't there wouldn't be much problem since the game is rated T anyway) and 2, potentially killing cops is acceptable in the game but an exploding car is not, sounds right.

Thats just the final game. I think after the Underground presentation, they weren't given any preview versions of NFS because in the GIGA games Underground presentation, they showed alot of things they weren't allowed to show (what they could and couldn't show was explained in a document that were given to them at the time of the Underground presentation. Couldn't agree with you anymore, not even major game critics like IGN could even review games like that because EA didn't want what happened with the underground presentation to happen again with '05. Can someone tell me what happened in the Underground presentation? How did they step on EA's foot?

They were given a preview disc from 2.5 months before release, they were also given a document of what they couldn't show and could. They couldn't show drag mode as EA feared they would show the damage models (which weren't finished), but they still showed it. They even read out the document, too. It shows they were really irresponsible.

Beta cutscene found in the Asian version of the game.
The Asian version (besides more languages for Asians of course) has PC demo files, like attributes.bin, DYNTEX.BIN, FE_ATTRIB.bin, GlobalB.lzc, etc. It includes as well: • An extra NIS file named "Scene_IntroNisFlyInDD_BundleB.bun", which is either broken or I couldn't play it correctly. • 3 extra engine sounds: - GIN_Miata_Pull_01a_shrt.gin - GIN_Muscle_Car.gin - GIN_Muscle_Car_DCL.gin • One subtitle file named "sprint_tutorial", which is either unfinished or it's missing the needed strings in language files. • Every minimap file for the PC Demo tracks.

so nfs mw05 maybe was going to have a damage model and you found some sounds of what could it have been and i said maybe i'm fully not sure about that
