you're reading my mind, they were probably used as placeholders and as we can see they decided to separate builds by (adding and removing almost 10K songs) adding a digit to the ID number. Therefore we can see that 5 digit audio was used in Alpha, 6 digit audio was used in HAWAII and 7 digit audio was used in the final build/version. I'll also leave the fact here that all HP2010 songs were 6 digit and there are no "leftovers" from anything. The fact that it's all just there makes me think that they left it there intentionally. Silent message to show that their cool ideas were cut off? Something for people like us to find? There just isn't a normal explanation for this. Gotta go to next E3/gamescom or whatever place where I could talk to Craig, maybe he'll tell me something :/ Well, the thing that bothers me is the fact, that they didn't remove that file within some patches (finally it's 1.5 and still these files exist there? I got MW2012 as a DVD but dunno if it's 1.0) - since Airport DLC couldn't be so difficult to develop because of the stuff that was already in the game or planned to be, Criterion could watch again the code and files and remove lots of things, strings, variables etc. But here goes something I would say everyone faces in the real life - the project you done was scrapped, you had to do this again as boss wanted it to be, finally it kinda sucks and even if not, you're not satisfied with it, so you don't want to touch remains of the great idea you had at the beginning and end with just polishing the project like nothing happened...that story sucks, but I think you gonna understand what I'm talking about. EDIT: I completely forgot the fact that NFSMW2012 leaked as NFSMW2 in April 2012, but this doesn't change a thing. We could probably approximate dates of game's phases, mostly thanks to "Development" section on Wiki's article about NFSMW2012.

So we played (or play) with only two car in SUV class ... Everybody know the existance of the Hummer H1, but I didn't know for the Grand Cheerokee ...
They appear in the mobile version ... And Need For Speed World ... On December 7th, 2012 for the Hummer and on September 21, 2013 for the Jeep ...
If my memories are good, the DLC came in february/march 2013 ... After the relase of the Jeep ... But why the Hummer was removed from Most Wanted but is present in World ? It isn't logical !
And Is there a way to add this car in Most Wanted ? To make a conversion from World ?
Anyway I think I'm not the first to ask this ...
Well ... It's strange to know the game was planned to be better than the version we get ...
This thread is very interesting

Yeah whatever dude. I have no idea about licensing. Anyway, while I was listening to the sound file it actually sounded like some dude was sitting in front of a PC watching the cops and presumably the protagonist too. The clicking sound is very, well, obvious. It is quite possible the one watching is the "dude who set us up". Makes sense for me. This is becoming more and more interesting. One thing bothers me tho. Why would the protagonist switch his BMW to a newer one (like the one in the concepts), the vinyls being the same, its well idk... Wonder how long was the game being developed. We can see the "concept art" BMW back in The Run (i know it was made by Black Box), as a teaser maybe? just to note, im not russian, the img is from google Juust speculating

AFAIK Black box didn't work alongside Criterion with MW2. The Run M3 is just an easter egg alike thing from a special event, altho it might have been used as inspiration on concept art.

hrjohn In reference to the video "384512," notice on the side it says "Copyright 2012 Electronic Arts Inc. All rights reserved." This means that the splash screen was cut late in the development cycle. I am still trying to work out what the timer in the top-right is. Maybe some file digging can link it to something, if this splash screen was a loading menu then we should most likely look for files related to a loading screen.

It's been some time since I posted and this time I've got something cool. I've managed to extract pretty much all of the audio from EN_US\SWC\SPEECHEVENTSEQUENCES.SWC0 all of the files are in OGG format(because muh FOSS) link: hrj.leibur.eu/PUBLIC/UPLOADED/New%20folder/SPEECHEVENTSEQUENCES.zip NOTE: 1st file is missing, if anyone wants I can add it too. when sorting I'd suggest to sort them by date, on some systems it sorts them in a bit wrong order. I'm currently making a fully extracted version of MW2012, it's gonna take some time tho. hrjohn In reference to the video "384512," notice on the side it says "Copyright 2012 Electronic Arts Inc. I swear to god that I always got the story vibe ever since I found the "Survive" Graffiti in the game. I saw it before this thread but grew increasingly suspicious after you guys actually uploaded more evidence.

Why does one of the concept art shows a full american Map? EA actually had 3 studios in 2011. Black Box, Criterion and SMS. What if they had actually planned a conception requiring a joint cooperation from both Criterion and Blackbox. A USA replica world where we are supposed to beat the most wanted folks. And who is "Darius Baines" ? I clearly see that in one of those leaked art concepts. I am sure they later decided to divide the project. Baited NFS The Run, probably another incomplete game to introduce their shitty frostbite engine to the series. Did criterion literally left a hint to us? In documents folder, dreamshot folder is created by default. Game files are still named "Hawaii" while we have those mysterious graffitis everywhere. There is a blocked railway route near the lighthouse heading mysteriously towards an inaccessible Island. Besides, there are many building that were probably supposed to be accessible but got blocked due to unfinished release. Trains are not moving in the game at all. I regard it as an indication of an incomplete game. They couldn't make trains move on cute and half deleted tracks that were once together.
A personal out of context view: That song by Muse : "Butterfly and Hurricanes" had the vibe of a revenge story. xD What are public telephones doing on the pathways in a 2012 game !? Yes. That "Kidnapper call" script that you guys found. Maybe it's true after all. Some areas are completely hidden by reflections, bloom and big mountains.
Hopefully, someone comes up with a debug camera and hopefully solve the mystery putting an end to our Misery. The game was probably in development right after hot pursuit. 2 friggin years. I bet they deleted a lot of content. The dodge charger also had a black paintjob instead of blue and had an "American Flag" as well. (Seen in some early screenshot) Cool down spots and pursuit brakers were evidently there. Pursuit System ? Such a pursuit system was last seen only in Undercover. The legacy of most wanted. Pretty sure they had this all planned beforehand.
Possible reasons for cut content: Cost overruns. Sudden arrival of next gen consoles. A shift to frostbite engine. (MW12 is on chameleon engine tho) DLC and sales policy. Trends. Release schedule. (Something that purged Carbon and Underground 2 as well) License issues(Typical of Hummer and Honda) Optimization and system requirements. EA's Sadist Attitude.

They probably removed gadgets from Most Wanted only to have them moved to NFS Rivals which is nothing but a remastered Hot Pursuit 2010 with some more music and more bloom and a shitty faceless narrative. Just sounds. "I will beat the cops" and bla bla bla.... Business policy. 2012 was important for revenue collection just as 2013 was an important year to make an entry into the next gen consoles market. MW12 still looks better tho. And so does Hot Pursuit 2010.

Why does one of the concept art shows a full american Map?Concept art by it's very definition is a vision of something, therefore don't take it too seriously. What if they had actually planned a conception requiring a joint cooperation from both Criterion and Blackbox. They somewhat did with The Run, a small team was formed from EA canada and Criterion to fit Frostbite for racing games. If you want to blame someone for making Frostbite the current NFS engine, blame Black Box and Criterion for doing a too good job. There is a blocked railway route near the lighthouse heading mysteriously towards an inaccessible Island.about that railroad: Besides, there are many building that were probably supposed to be accessible but got blockedThat's something I've noticed too. A lot of entrances actually feature a ground texture.(I can post screenshots if someone needs) Some areas are completely hidden by reflections, bloom and big mountains.
note: reflection is something you see in a mirror, bloom is the effect when some color slightly fades with other colors. Mountains? Gonna' need some source on this one, majority of the areas can be seen without trouble. There are some areas that are surrounded by buildings but otherwise there aren't any hidden by a mountain. There's like 1 major mountain in MW2012 and that's just used for scenery. Hopefully, someone comes up with a debug cameracurrently the closest you can get: www.tocaedit.com/2012/11/need-for-speed-most-wanted-2012-camera.htmlThey probably removed gadgets from Most Wanted only to have them moved to NFS Rivals which is nothing but a remastered Hot Pursuit 2010 with some more music and more bloom and a shitty faceless narrative. They removed them the way they removed anything directly related to original MW, they were out of resources.

Thanks for the video. So we know that the content was allegedly cut. Nobody randomly puts tracks only to end them nowhere. North and East parts of the maps were cut on purpose. Basically, every open world NFS game. It will be senseless to put anything unless there was something planned. An ideal map ends at the sea like GTA V. NFS maps and locations were never fully done. Thanks EA. I am feeling as blessed as any suicidal person. Brb , fighting depression.
Edit : I just hope that they finally own up and reveal the cancelled stuff to the public after the product loses it's commercial value rather than burning the archives along with the offices and studios they love destroying. For god's sake.

**2 chains of same-user multiposting** Uhh, dunno if you noticed... but making multiple posts in a row is kind of a big no-no in forum etiquette, as the edit button is an available tool to utilize. The main exception is if you have a very large document you need to properly split up. (Cause it goes over the character limit allowed per post.)
