Hey everybody I'm not dead (yet) nor this thread! Today I have for you some (unused) textures from UG1.
(everything else cut due to size xd)
The Sentra screen and the HUD tip loading screens are used in the final game. The one with the Civic and Tiburon however, aren't.
About the damage, maybe it still is used during the crash sequences like in UG2? Or unused just like Eclipse's broken lights.
TJ's picture is used, each time he challenges the player to a time trial for unique parts. The only (weird) exception is the race against him.
No idea what to say about the race icons. Maybe they wanted to make the menu similar to UG2, but eventually settled for a more simplistic approach?
Re-positioning vinyls definitely sounds interesting, but I have no idea what to expect from it in UG1, had it made it into the final game. I think it's better it was added only in Carbon, along with the new vinyl system. Just like the originally more advanced customization with more features that were cut from UG1 (and honestly, it's a good thing imo. The final version feels much better and is more fitting. Not all that is cut is necessarily good after all.), but parts of it re-used in UG2.
And the car "ranking". Maybe it was somehow related to the car's reputation system, but how more precisely... who knows. Doubt it had something to do with the leaderboards though, nothing in the game points to something like this.
Lastly, the cop lights texture. Known for quite some time that cops were intented to make an appearance in the game but were cut. They can be seen in some concept arts (or whatever they are.)
