I took a look at the intro in slow mo. (ty youtube) and i noticed these things: linkNote: There is no lince plate in the car (beta) but it places a custom one, more pics, in the post. Custom plate again, Note: Foglights were implomented to work (?) Supra has cutom plate too Beta unquie vinly, the decals are interesting: -more colourful (AEM logo has black and white colours, Skunk2 has red ect..) -more positions: upper front wheeles, under the window(Eclipse), and even the AEM and HKS logos are bigger and closer to the mid than the final version Same again but in the front Custom plate, and positioned decals. Cunclosion: The intro gives us information about: -It was planned to be custom licence plates, -Unquie positions to decals with optinalabe size and colours (not only black/white) -(Foglights were planned to work) This sure is from the newer beta (like any intros in other nfs series....(UG2,MW,Carbon))

Also, look at the Supra's fenders. They're basically the same as the TRD 3000GT ( Not to be confused with the Mitsubishi 3000GT lol ) body kit: And also note that the Eclipse has some unused bumpers in the beginning of the intro, before it gets the Vapor kit. This is the closest I could get to what they look like: Obviously there are multiple possibilities with this, maybe none of this was actually planned out and instead it was just intended to show off what you could do in the game, but it also could mean that earlier on in the beta stage, they were planning on basing certain parts off of licensed bumpers/side skirts/spoilers/whatever. Make of it what you will, I'm just here to point this stuff out lol

Those flame towers look suspiciously like the race start/end particles in Carbon, just colored yellow not green/red.

I noticed something interesting, in the final game you can usually tell which cars were added earlier on in development without even looking at the files. How? The mirrors and license plates fall off much easier on "older" cars than "newer" cars. See, damage was already planned but it never got much further than cracked windows and missing mirrors since the devs didn't have time to implement it fully. Since that feature was abandoned earlier on in development, most of the cars added afterwards don't lose their mirrors whenever they scrape against a wall.

Because as seen here. I can knock off the license plate of my Toyota Celica as well as the Wing Mirrors but on other vehicles such as the Honda Civic it often only suffers window cracks from crash cameras and the plate never falls off on PC. Though IIRC they did fall off on other vehicles on Xbox Amusingly on the PS2 the plate/mirrors often seem to reappear after each lapPersonally the easiest way to tell a Beta vehicle is by the car selection screen, I look for the old logo style next to the manufacturers Vehicle in beta Vehicle in final The only vehicle also in the E3 version that DOESN'T follow this trend is the Dodge Neon which only has text for it instead of a logo Underground 2 then follows the beta style trend with logos not being repeated twice unless it's a UG1 vehicle Another minor thing unreleated to the vehicles is the Chinatown/Market Street gates shortcut. In the beta they often slowed your vehicle down more than the final where they weigh less.

I've managed to tek out the movies from the ps2 demo, and the main menu background scene is in .mpc format, so vlc is compatible with every movie file. The 2.nd second, thats what you can see: Yes, thats a truck,and if you watch the whole video, you will notice some traffic cars. The 3 movies are downloadable via these links: link1link2link3The 1.st is the intro, the 2.nd is the movie, that the demo shows you in the begining of the demo career, the 3.rd is the main menu background.

The credit icon is in the final game files, but just dummied out as it seems. Probably can be inserted back in somehow Appears we also had a cut wheel called 'Steely' if we can manage to find DebugCarCustomize this unused wheel might be given a 2nd chance. The shortcut poles in Market Street have also been recorded and both Eclipses used are stock. Possibly demonstrating how vehicles are in performance compared to Beta. My apologizes for the somewhat stuttery beta part though. There's this too. They already planned out the car list by that point it seems. Crashes here too though. Missing models. All the vehicles without placeholder logos seem to also be like the final but without the manufacturer next too it. EDIT:Full video listing that and more now here!

Guys, it was never my intention to post anything here in this forum but I have found something that might be of any interest to you with regards to the NFSU 1 beta (Have also used the search bar without success so there you go):
According to the presenters of this German games show, this beta / preview gives some insights to a version that is 70% finished. In addition to that, one of the presenters reads off from a sheet that the physics of the game shown is 85% finished, graphics are 80% finished, lighting effects, etc. are still subject to change.
EDIT: I came across another video which shows some footage from the more finished demo which is already analyzed above (with screenshots and videos), from 6:00-12:00 in the second video and more footage based on the more unfinished (70%) preview (other takes from the show):

Very good finding, excellent. This is build is from the announcement trailer for sure, also has the blue barriers. Also the pictures I brought are from this build too. (look above for them). Btw, the shape of the side barriers are interesting. Industrial area has a different background at the start, canal has minor changes, sounds are different, car tune hallway (or idk how to name that) has a different background, beta traffic also shown, ect. Also they show the traffic cars in game, so i guess they had a press preview or something like that. Anyways, great job!
